1) Pilot-Operated Missions
- Flight scope and parameters are selected to meet project requirements, including mission type, GSD, image overlap and flight-path profile.
- Best suited to one-off inspections, audits, technical acceptance and assignments with a variable scope.
- Available on an on-demand basis (incidents, failures and rapid diagnostics).
Most Common Choice: when you need to deploy a service quickly without investing in on-site infrastructure.
2) Continuous On-Site Support (Permanent or Rotational Team)
- Dedicated survey windows or a permanent on-site team during the season (e.g. construction monitoring, O&M).
- Faster field operations and improved coordination with on-site teams.
- A consistent data and reporting standard throughout the project lifecycle.
Most Common Choice: multi-week or multi-month projects where consistency and comparability are essential.
3) Autonomous Solutions (Drone-in-a-Box)
- Repeat missions carried out to a schedule (for example, daily or weekly), with data acquisition for trend analysis.
- Most effective for long-term contracts with ongoing data acquisition requirements.
- Requires operational preparation and regulatory compliance (deployment is phased).
Note: An autonomous solution is generally appropriate where the client is planning a long-term engagement with an established maintenance model and sufficient flight volume.
How Do We Select the Right Delivery Model?
- Purpose: inspection / monitoring / emergency response / technical acceptance / audit.
- Frequency: one-off or recurring delivery (trend analysis and comparability).
- Conditions: location, access, HSE risks and airspace restrictions.
- Data Requirements: format, accuracy, delivery timescale and integration with the client's workflow.
Based on this, we recommend the appropriate deployment model together with the minimum resource requirements (people / equipment / process).
